Our next gathering we’ll be watching some works by Miko Revereza and discussing his experimental film practice and path.
For May’s Shadow Kitchen gathering, we welcome filmmaker Miko Revereza!
Miko is an experimental, diaristic filmmaker who has been living in the United States illegally since childhood. Originally from Manila, Miko’s work is strongly influenced by his own struggle with documentation and the exclusion that comes with it.
His first feature film, No Data Plan, premiered at Rotterdam, went on to play at Art of the Real at Lincoln Center in NYC, and will have its LA premiere this Sunday at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival.
On Tuesday we will screen some of Miko’s past works and host a conversation and open Q&A with the filmmaker in attendance.
Additionally, we’d like to invite you on a field trip to the screening of his first feature film, No Data Plan, this Sunday at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival. The showing will take place Sunday May 5 at the Downtown Independent at 5pm. Purchase your tickets here. The conversation on Tuesday is sure to include discussion about his feature as well.
