Orkgotik Origins: Cinema, Prosthetics and Performance
Happy Holidays! This December we’ll be taking a turn towards the gothic, sitting down with the Colombian multimedia artist and current contestant of The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula (Season 5), Orkgotik.
Orkgotik’s unique DIY approach to prosthetics – transforming the humanoid into ecstatic fleshy nightmare monster – is challenging the definition of drag for audiences of the current season of Dragula (AMC+, Shudder).
We’ll be looking back before the drag and prosthetics to Orkgotik’s early short films, and his continued video work he’s directed, starred in, or created prosthetics for, and his collaborations with other South American artists in Buenos Aires. Following the screening, there will be a conversation between Orkgotik and filmmaker Anderson Matthew.
