guest curated by Courtney Stephens
A night of short films about calibration and navigation. Why keep on tuning against the inevitable warp of time? In these films people listen, channel, and divine messages from the elements. “Aether,” Artistotle’s fifth element, is the material that fills the space above the terrestrial globe. If the sensitives play the earth as an instrument, will the aether resonate back in the form of instructions? Will you find your specific trauma in the coordinates? Is the whole world a metaphor for ones exclusion from it?
The program included two films (Perfect Fifths and Ida Western Exile) by Courtney Stephens and will be followed by Q+A with the filmmaker and curator in attendance.
Plants – Deanna Morse
