3TON CINEMAhttp://3toncinema.info/ is a roving DIY microcinema with a collection of hundreds of ephemeral films from the 20th century, all on 16MM. Founded in Oakland in 2009 by Laskfar Vortok and Montgomery Cantsin, 3TON has exhibited in a variety of venues (in twelve states), including Mack Sennett Studios; Three Rivers Film Festival; Ochoco National Forest; SOMArts Cultural Center; Clinton Street Theater; Union Docs; Ragtag Cinema; and the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.

MONTGOMERY CANTSIN, born in Illinois in 1979, has worked as a research assistant for award-winning foundfootage film artists such as Craig Baldwin and Bill Morrison; curated moving images for the Olympia Film Festival, Oddball Films, and Network Awesome; and written for Cineaste Magazine and Furtherfield. His new handmade, cameraless film — titled “Screamingly” — will premiere next month at Other Cinema in San Francisco; and his monthly plunderphonic/concrète-focused mixtape can be heard every first Sunday on KCHUNG‘s Final Party Radio.
